10 Months (Don’t Believe It!)
Chemo & Cocoa
So, medically speaking, the average life expectancy of a person with my prognosis is “10 more months”.
As a Radical Remission coach, we are fond of saying “believe the diagnosis, but not the prognosis”. Hence, my recurring parenthetical “(Don’t Believe It)”.
I began chemotherapy a few weeks ago. Though I tolerated it well, it was a controversial decision. One of my naturopathic doctors doesn’t recommend it, the other thinks it’s great on tumors but ineffective on the stem cells that create the ongoing pattern of metastatic activity.
I had to unfriend one woman on Facebook, a family friend I have known for years, herself a spiritual healer. She continually berated me publicly for my decision to do chemo. Her position is that the body can heal by itself, given the right actions to support this healing. She recommended water fasting for 40 days, meditation.
What is interesting, is that she is correct. The body can heal itself. Deepak Chopra has a record of thousands of folks who have healed from metastatic cancer, and, he says, they all have one thing in common; at one point, they all had a direct experience of themselves as Divine Energy.
However, my friend could not hear me when I shared some key facts. I had done my very best to heal naturally to the extent I was able to at the time. Chemo buys me time to continue to heal naturally to the extent that I am able, and to support this, I am educating myself on how to heal from chemo as well, when it is complete.
However, her recriminations had the potential to seed ideas that “chemo is harmful”, which does not support success with my decision, so her posts had to go. Our thoughts are very powerful, and mine must always be on success.
Longevity is not, in fact, the goal of my life. A 40 day water fast could not be done without compromising my integrity (performing the services I have committed to my clients). I humbly believe that the work I do transcends the mortal expression of my own single life. We are a collective, and essentially indivisible, despite the dualistic impression that suggests otherwise. I am lucky enough to work, with many others, in a professional and service-focused field that elevates consciousness, and contributes to the spiritual evolution of the planet. Achieving a Christ-like state of mind (my life’s goal indeed), even briefly, might heal me…but is this healing God’s will? I think it could be. And yet, my current incarnation may have a natural trajectory and decline in keeping with God’s plan. That is all I (try to 😆 ) want…to know God’s will, and to please God.
Out of the blue, Steve Hardison (The Ultimate Coach) called me. I had been lucky enough to interact with him when I was in my cancer healing center in Canada, in Stephen McGhee’s Global Coaching Initiative. In the 15 minutes he gave me out of generosity and consideration of my condition, we spoke of the great mystery of money. He recommended this book (de facto book club, anyone?).
As a soul having a human experience, most of the areas of my life are shining examples of success. I live in joy and gratitude for the absolute miracles in my life. I also observe, with compassion and curiosity, my current situation of being able to afford supplements and infusions that counter-act the effect of chemotherapy, and help me “stay on the court”.
You can support me by donating to my fundraiser, or notifying those with a cancer diagnosis of my Radical Remissions coaching services.
I also have a strong practice as a spiritual psychology trained life & leadership coach. It seems I have hit a new bar recently in my work with my clients - they seem to be universally thriving. My friend Vivek pointed out that sometimes, as a person approaches mortality consciousness, they arrive at a new ability to love and serve more powerfully. I’ll take it!
Additionally, I am a part-time enrollment coach for (and complete fan and evangelist of) the Healing Oasis, the cancer healing center in Canada that may have extended my life for who knows how long! What I learned there, and the treatments I received, remain the blueprint of my ongoing healing lifestyle.
Please share this link for those seeking world class naturopathic healing from a cancer diagnosis (a direct referral commission would provide me with a month of alternative treatments!). The Healing Oasis is about half the price of clinics in Mexico and Germany; they offer not only the same (better, actually) treatments, but in natural surroundings (seriously, check it out) in the Canadian Okanagan, (British Columbia). You will be a hero to your loved one, just as those who helped me go tnere last year are to me ❤️.
My three weeks at the Healing Oasis (and other natural and medical treatments) allowed me to beat the odds: only 30% of people with my diagnosis survive past 5 years. I am now exactly five years from my original diagnosis - and there are a whole host of treatments I haven’t even tried yet! (including a 40 day water fast / meditation! 😉)
Please send a prayer of gratitude to all those who have blessed me with their kind support. Thanks for reading my updates! More news next month.
